Eyes Like Stars Playlist(s)
Posted by The Boy With BooksJul 9
I am fairly confident in stating that the title Eyes Like Stars is after a song by the same title from Faulter’s debut album Darling Buds of May. Not entirely sure, but like 96.2%. Anyway, you can listen to the song on Last.fm here.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it is to make a playlist for Eyes Like Stars. It can be just a list or it can be one of those cool little widgets with the actual songs. Either way, come back and post them here!
EDIT: As Catherine pointed out, it’s also a quote from Hamlet. But whatev.

Sorry pal, looks like it’s a Shakespeare line. From Hamlet.
I could a tale unfold whose lightest word
Would harrow up thy soul, freeze thy young blood,
Make thy two eyes, like stars, start from their spheres,
Thy knotty and combined locks to part
I only have one/two songs in my head, so I’ll have to think about what else exists.

Well, the second one also takes its title from a line from Shakespeare – again, Hamlet – so I suspect the third will be the same.

Yeah, I’m with Catherine on this one… actually had a twitter conversation with Lisa once trying to convince her to contact Faulter to let her use the song in her trailer – she had just found it (and her book was way already named and ARCed). I guess all of the titles on that album are Shakespeare
But, I went ahead and made a playlist for the book, per your request! http://www.mixpod.com/playlist/24989997

I actually found the song after we titled the book, but the lyrics are EERILY appropriate to the novel, and when I saw the album title (which is from one of Shakespeare’s sonnets) I sent a note to Andy Carpenter via MySpace. We had a very nice chat, and he mentioned that his “Eyes Like Stars” is NOT a Hamlet reference.
But mine is.
(And I ~love~ that song. *G*)
