I was talking to Senfaye earlier, and I asked her how many books were on her To Be Read pile. The answer was “a lot”, which, c’mon, is an answer I bet a lot of us have. But it got me thinking. So I went and dug around in the garbage dump my room. I have eighty-four books that I plan on reviewing sitting on my bookshelf. This is a problem for me. I routinely pick up or at least write down three or more books every week that I wat to read, and I read one or two every week.

Thus, I have challenged myself. I will not requet, borrow, check-out, purchase, or otherwise pick up any books (to review or otherwise) until I have read (or attempted to read) and reviewed all eighty-four of those books on my shelf. If someone sends me a book without contacting me first, it goes to the end of the line. If they talk to me first, I will let them know about this project of mine; if they still want to send me a book, great, but it has to wait its turn.

All you book bloggers out there, I challenge you to do the same! Read through your whole To Be Read/Reviewed stack/pile/shelf before picking up any other books. If you’re in, post in the comments and maybe I’ll make a little graphic or something.
